Victorian 18ct Rose Cut 5-stone Band

Many say that the eyes are the window to ones soul, well, I say that rose cut diamonds are the window into the heart.

There is something truly magical about a Victorian 5-stone diamond band and until I came across rose cut versions, I had no idea JUST how magical they could be. To me, a rose cut diamond is the epitome of romance. They have a subtle, yet immediately commanding, presence that is nearly impossible to ignore. You can see the entirety of the rainbow in their facets without trying to capture "the perfect" light. Plus you get the visual impact and size of larger stones without the height (which is particularly good if you're quite active, harsh, or clumsy while wearing jewellery).

There is evidence of this ring having been resized, as such it is an off-round shape. Off-round means that when the ring was sized down the jeweler chose to bend the two sides inwards to make it smaller instead of re-working the gallery (potentially compromising the integrity of the stones in the setting) to round out the whole piece. Presumed to have happened during the sizing process, this ring lost any hallmarks it may have had and was polished to a bright (new) finish.
