4.26CTW Old Mine Cut Soliatire Platinum Ring

Have you ever looked at something and you could feel your heart, your soul, your entire body and essence being pulled into and towards it? That's what antique stones do to me. I've learned that magical draw is what captivates most everyone when they discover old cut stones for the first time and it's that very same magic that holds these stones at the top of so many favorite lists.

This diamond is no different. Her large culet, slighty asymmetrical proportions, tall puffy crown, each and every facet glinting with a new color of the rainbow immediately embraces you in a warm hug of awe and joy. The imperfection of OMC (Old Mine Cut) diamonds is what makes these stones surpass the definition of perfection. 

Set in a platinum ring within double claw prongs, sits this exquisite 4.26 carat diamond. The shoulders of the ring feature the smallest, finest, most delicate milgrain I've ever seen on a ring (something jewelers today would be hardpressed to recreate).

The diamond is accompanied by a GIA report indicating a color grading of L with a faint brown modifier. An added bonus of antique stones is that they all "face up" whiter than their grading. Brown modifiers within a stone also enhance the "white facing" color. These oldies were cut specifically for light and beauty, and not for modern machine-like aspirations of the best certifiable aspects regardless of how that may diminish it's actual sparkle effect. This means that even though this diamond was graded as being an "L" in color, the combination of faint brown plus being an antique stone, makes it looks to the eye to be much closer to its near colorless graded peers in the G/H/I category. You'll be hard pressed to find much of anything better for this price and size.
