Jeanne d'Arc 18ct w/ Helmet Signed Félix Rasumny

It is of my humble opinion that there is no greater imagery known by all, but especially women, to convey; passion, dedication, power, strength, conviction, perseverance, etc.. Jeanne d'Arc, Jehanne d'Arc, Joan of Arc, we all know her and many love her. This is one of my best medallions of her as it shows her in full armor and ready to battle. Let her be your talisman, your armor, to go into battle as your guide and protection. While inscribed with the date 1931, I am confident this piece is older than that. Perhaps from a mother to her daughter? One can dream.

This medal was created by Russian jeweler and medalist artist Félix Rasumny. He was born April 20, 1869 in Sevastopol, Russian Empire (died 1940 in Paris). In his youth, he settled in France. He studied at the School of Decorative Arts. His teachers were E. Millet, T. Gautier and E.P. Tasse. Felix Rasumny gained fame as the author of decorative and commemorative plaques and medals, as well as brooches and table decorations in the style of Art Nouveau and Art Deco. Solid gold pieces are quite difficult to come by as he preferred to work in silver and gilt.
