Through the Louping Glass is a woman-owned and operated business located within the San Francisco Bay Area with 25+ years of collecting, researching, sourcing, and selling experience in the antiques industry. The mission is simple: be the bridge to love.

I only bring in things that I love on the belief that others will love and appreciate them as well.

Collecting, saving, hoarding, amassing…however you want to refer to it, has always been one of my greatest joys.

My mother was, and has always been, attracted to the workmanship of yore. From a time before I can remember she would tell me stories of the Vikings, Ancient Egyptians, Greeks, etc.. She would show me relics of their artistry, construction, and accomplishments. This attraction of hers to all things old, also included architecture, furniture, and housewares, and would soon become a passion of my own. My first love in the antiques world was in the admiration and appreciation of old homes and buildings, which would tangibly manifest in the form of boxes. Eventually that love would narrow into the niche of antique jewellery storage and presentation boxes. I spent years collecting old boxes before that love grew into curiosity as to what those boxes would have contained. From then on, a new fire and desire bred my passion and love of antique jewellery.

Since the beginning, I have been hopelessly addicted to the craftsmanship found in antiques. Everything from the minute details to the material choices, to being able to line up a few pieces (regardless of type) and see an actual progression through human history of technology and artistry. Not least of all is being able to see the change in how romance was conveyed then given in physical form to another person. My desire to share this knowledge, passion, and these pieces is what ultimately lead me to starting my business.
