Edwardian Sapphire and Diamond Set in Platinum

This ring was created around 1905 from an antique (even then) stick pin. The principle Sapphire was salvaged and used to make this ring of dreams. There are six (6) old cut diamonds on the shoulders, three (3) on each side that give a nice dose of glamour - which while unnecessary when paired with this sapphire, is always welcome. This ring is unmarked, but tests for Platinum.

The construction of this setting is solid with a nice heft to its weight, particularly for being relatively low profile. There is subtle engraved detail along the shoulders and partially down the shank that lend a glimpse into a bygone era. I personally have a soft spot for antique pieces that are unequivocally timeless, this piece does not disappoint.

That dark "spec" you see in the center of the stone in its head on photograph is a small green crystal. Yes, a crystal. It's a two-for-one if you will. Type of crystal has not yet been identified. It's one of the neatest inclusions I've had in a stone to date.

Condition: In excellent antique condition - sapphire could use polishing if perfection is more of a preference
