Georgian 5-Stone Old Mine Cut Diamond Half Hoop

This is one of the absoute best Georgian half hoop, 5-stone, old mine cut diamond bands. Each diamond is set into its original silver pinched collet which is backed in gold and has been opened. What this means is that a jeweler drilled out the back of the original closed setting and removed the foil that used to be behind each diamond. This is a huge benefit because now this ring can now be worn without tremendous care as it can easily be cleaned. The diamonds are attached to an 18ct yellow gold band with an off punch for 18ct. Each stone measures, calculated as a cushion, while still within its setting, at an approximate weight of: 0.484, 0.745, 0.921, 0.590, and 0.480 cts each for a total approximated weight of 3.229ctw.
