Renaissance Revival Enamel and OMC Diamond Ring C. 1840
When you think of the color blue, what is it that you imagine? What do you feel? More so, when you hear the words "French Blue" do those thoughts and feelings change?
For me, when I see the color blue I immediately think of the ocean. The calmness, the depth, the soul reaching serenity of it. This ring elicits the same response. I'm sure it has to do with the fact that we have white enamel entwined with two different hues of blue: French meets Navy.
The white brings me to imagine the spume of white capped waves. The blues remind me of how those very waves change tone as they rise and fall. The undulating curves of the setting and how they progress into the shoulders...UGH. Have you ever seen anything this romantic?
This ring is a Renaissance Revival (crafted C. 1840) piece and reportedly belonged to the same family in Brazil from its creation until very recently. Centered is an old mine cut diamond with an estimated weight of 0.60cts. It is modeled in 18ct yellow gold and has the most delicious combination of dual blue and white enamel. US ring size 6, sizing up is not recommended, and sizing down is recommended only by adding beads or an interior sizing band. There is some age related wear to the enamel (shown in a macros photo) but you'll see that it is surface only, and there are no places where enamel is missing in its entirety).
There's a palpable history to this ring that is felt by everyone that encounters it, truly a showstopper. One of a Kind pieces rarely get better than this right here.
